AhmedabadAir India has been giving priority under its “Connecting India” programme, to regional connectivity to smaller cities. It now connects Mumbai to Gwalior and Surat with three flights a week on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays since December 25, 2015. The flights to these Tier-II destinations will be operated with the 70 seater ATR 72-600 aircraft. It has also connected Durgapur to Delhi and Kolkata with a A319 flight three days a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from December 19, 2015.

Recently, Ahmedabad and London were linked with a daily Dreamliner flight via Mumbai. The airline operates three daily frequencies to London from Delhi, making it four direct daily flights from India to London.

Air India also started a non-stop flight between Delhi and San Francisco three times a week from December 2, 2015. Mumbai and Diu are connected four days a week, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, with ATR72 aircraft. To meet increasing demand, a second flight has been introduced on the Delhi-Surat sector with an Airbus aircraft

Enhanced Check-in Baggage

Air India passengers travelling in economy class on domestic flights are entitled to an enhanced free check-in baggage allowance of 25 kg across all fare levels of economy class. Additionally, infants will get free baggage allowance of 10 kg.

Passengers travelling on Alliance Air flights and connecting to Air India flights and vice versa are also be eligible for 25 kg. However, this offer is not available for passengers travelling exclusively on Alliance Air flights. For more information, log on to

A Fare Deal With APEX Fares
The next time you are planning a trip, take a look at the attractive Advance Purchase Excursion (APEX) Fares. These fares can be availed in the economy class 7, 14, 30, 60 and 90 days in advance from the date of travel. Business-class APEX Fares are also available in advance of seven days and beyond, from the date of travel.


Non-stop to San Francisco

On December 2, 2015 when the first Air India flight to San Francisco took off from Delhi, it became one of the world’s longest non-stop commercial flights, covering a distance of 14,162 km in about 17 hours. Capt Pushpinder Singh was in command. Capt Darryl Pais was the other senior commander on board. The flight took the North Atlantic Ocean, Transpolar route. Cabin crew Tarun Punj (as the Maharajah) and Vandana Menon (as maharani), who welcomed guests on board, are seen with the two pilots in the photograph. Discover India Scheme

Air India launched its Discover India Scheme in September. It is available for Indians residing abroad, Persons of Indian origin and foreign nationals, and has two variants – with travel validity of 15 days and 30 days respectively from the commencement of the first leg of the journey. 01D-90 fares

Plan your travel 90 days in advance and get super economical fares, on select domestic sectors. The D-90 fares, launched last month for Economy Class travel, almost match Railways AC-2T fares. For instance, the one-way, allinclusive D-90 fare between Delhi and Kolkata is `2,885 and between Delhi and Bengaluru is `4,015. The D-90 fares are inclusive of basic fare, airline fuel surcharge and taxes/levies. Tickets against these fares can be purchased up to 90 days prior to the date of travel.


The eSuperSaver is now available on Business Class, Economy Class and on select sectors in the Nort-East.

For executive class passengers on domestic sectors, the scheme offers two variants: An all-inclusive fare of `44,000 (for sectors up to 750 km) and of `88,000 (for all sectors), along with an enhanced free-baggage allowance of 35 kg. In Economy class there are two variants- (a) up to 750 km and (b) travel on all domestic sectors irrespective of distance. Each variant offers three booklets of four, eight and twelve coupons. In the first variant, for travel on sectors up to 750 km, a passenger can avail a four-coupon booklet for `18,000, an eightcoupon booklet for `34,000 and a 12-coupon booklet for `48,000, inclusive of all surcharges, levies and fees. In the second variant, for travel on all domestic sectors irrespective of distance, a passenger can avail a four-coupon booklet of `24,000, an eight-coupon booklet of `46,000 and a 12-coupon booklet of `66,000. The baggage allowance in economy class is 25 kg and for journey on CRJ and ATR aircraft it will be 15 kg.
