India’s first Jal Mahotsav

Madhya Pradesh is set to play host to India’s first Jal Mahotsav, or water tourism, from February 12-21 in Hanuwantiya at Indra Sagar Dam, one of Asia’s largest man-made reservoirs. It will celebrate Madhya Pradesh’s colourful customs and rich traditions through art, craft, folk music, dance and cuisines, along with adventure sports, sight-seeing and treasure hunts at Hanuwantiya in MP’s Khandwa district.

Jaipur’s photography debut

The first edition of Travel Photo Jaipur , from February 5-14, is all set to make a splash in Rajasthan. Besides the 14 exhibitions, there will be a series of talks by speakers from the US, the UK, Germany, Spain, Guatemala, Japan and Italy, and three special interventions to augment the festival and approach the subject of photography from all aspects. The venues will primarily be Hawa Mahal, Jawahar Kala Kendra and Albert Hall Museum. With large- format photographic prints displayed across the city by an acclaimed roster of national and international photographers, such as Gideon Mendel, winner of six World Press Photo Awards, the nine-day festival will be open to all.
